I'm Tony Chantler — TRC is just my initials. For the last fourteen years I've been quietly turning around gardens across the East Sussex coast, mostly by word of mouth. One person, one phone number, every job from first visit to final tidy-up.

TRC started small — just me, a van and a few evenings and weekends spent fixing gardens around Hastings. Word got around. Repeat customers became neighbours. Neighbours became streets. By 2017 it was full-time, and by 2020 I'd settled on the four things I wanted to do really well: patios, decking, garden design and fencing.
I've stayed deliberately solo. No subcontracting, no chasing volume. It means I know every project from quote to handover, and I can stand behind every square metre I've laid.
Today I run one project at a time, properly, across the Hastings, Bexhill, Rye and St Leonards areas — and most of my work still comes from people who saw the job next door.
Six working principles. They sound obvious. Most of the industry still ignores them.
What's under the slab matters more than the slab itself. I don't move on until the sub-base is right.
The person who quotes is the person who builds and the person who hands over. That's me. No subcontracting.
Written, itemised quotes that don't change. If I miss something, that's my problem, not yours.
Every shift ends with a swept site. Skips emptied, tools away. You can still use the rest of the garden while I work.
£5m public liability, plant and tool cover. Certificates available before the first invoice.
Written workmanship guarantee on every build. I answer the phone if anything ever needs a tweak.
I'm based in Hastings and most of my work falls within a 12-mile radius — that's Bexhill, St Leonards, Rye, Battle, Winchelsea, Fairlight, Pett, Westfield, Crowhurst, Ninfield, Sedlescombe and the villages in between.
Site visits are free, friendly and entirely no-obligation. Worst case, you get a quote you don't use.
